Did you know? we are a 100% Kiwi-owned company, based in Hastings, Hawke’s Bay. Since 1961, we have been innovating, developing new products by rethinking the everyday.
We are proud to stand by the men and women who work hard every day to put food on our plates. Thank you to all the farmers!
Watch this space, stay tuned, there is much more to come.
Building a Jet Engine for his push-bike at just 8 years old… was one of the many inventions that just occurred on the Currie family farm. Needless to say when Russell’s father discovered the contraption, “he tried to pull the hand brake on the idea”
That same inventive gene went on to kick off Hustler Equipment some 60 years ago with that very gene running through 4 generations and creating a thriving global company Head Quartered only a few miles from the original farm in the back blocks of New Zealand
Hustler has grown its business on global demand, by staying at the forefront of an industry where technological developments are constantly emerging and discerning buyers are seeking to improve their efficiencies.
Much of the testing and trialing of new equipment is carried out by end-users in the field, and around the world to ensure that Hustler products meet the demands of a global market.
From humble beginnings on a farm in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand in 1961, steady increase has led to the creation of a global company with exceptional foundations. Hustler builds uniquely engineered, world-class products which are formed from an innovative heritage of ingenuity and combined with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. Hustlers innovation is all supported with it’s heritage, by rethinking the everyday, everyday right from the beginnings.

Our guiding principle, we challenge traditions and conventional thinking to find new and more effective ways for the team and our customers to get more done everyday while giving an effortless experience.
We say what we do, and do what we say without delay! We keep it simple and find ways to become the “fastest fixers”
We search for solutions, not problems. Because we all achieve more together when we’re driven by solutions. We draw on others when out of our depth. And we make things simple and clear for everyone we deal with
HONESTY & INTEGRITY:
We adhere to the highest moral principles and professional standards. If we’re wrong we own up and find a way to move forward. As our founder once said “we do what’s right, ahead of making money”
Energy builds momentum and with the momentum, everyone wins! Our Customers, Our Dealers, and Our Team. We’re about building others up and bringing the best out of everyone. We leave others better off each time we have to do with them
Hustler has been designing and building farm equipment since 1961. We combine a love for machines with creativity, an understanding of farming, and a passion for discovering better ways to do everyday tasks.
Our head office location in one of New Zealand’s key agricultural regions keeps us in touch with the requirements of some of the world’s best farmers. We listen, we observe, and we challenge the status quo to develop products that meet the evolving needs of agriculture. Industry-leading technology ensures meticulous manufacturing standards.
All new Hustler products undergo a grueling test programme, When they survive we stand behind them with our five-year warranty and our global dealer network.
All products manufactured in 2023 or later (except the Hurricane) are now backed up by a 5-year warranty worldwide.
For all products manufactured earlier, a full 2-year warranty applies globally to all products manufactured by Hustler Equipment and a full 12-month warranty applies to all products manufactured by Robertson, a division of Hustler. An optional extended 4 warranty is available in some countries – contact your nearest dealer for more information.
Yes, Hustler’s new Chainless are the only bale feeders on the market that will reliably feed out any bale! Earlier models of Chainless 2000 and Chainless 4000 struggled with wet, soggy balage or fine cut bales. We recommend with these models to lift the platform higher than usual.
Yes – it doesn’t matter which way the bale is unwinding, a Chainless will feed it out
Yes, the Chainless models are designed specifically for feeding any type of bale round, square, hay, baleage, straw, etc. This is because of the twin drums turning at different speeds, which tease out bales rather than simply unrolling them.
Our Unrolla bale feeders can feed out square bales with the optional sidebar kit fitted, although like all cradle-type feeders they will not feed square bales as well as the specially-designed Chainless range.
Yes, round and square.
Bearings. Because bearings, unlike bushes, are silent and don’t flog out when not greased. Bearings well out-last bushes and have much less friction, providing a smooth, free-running operation and require a lot less grease to maintain.
We mount our bearings externally to further prevent hay, silage juice, and straw from causing damage or premature wear, as found with any internally mounted bearing or bush. We use heavy duty, self-aligning, 4 bolt flange bearings with trash shields to withstand the harshest of conditions, even mud!

At Hustler we thrive on product feedback. Feedback is the back bone of process improvement and without this it is very hard to innovate.
Most initial testing during the development phase is performed in New Zealand, then product concepts are sent to all major markets for thorough testing, to ensure that they:
Various CAD (Computer aided development) systems are also used to assist with analysis and testing, to ensure our customers are investing in products that will perform, last, and add value
Hustler products take a lot longer to develop that other brands, this is due to the extensiveness of product testing, design rationalising, and process analysis that Hustler puts into each product.
Typically when a Hustler product arrives on the market they’ve been in the development phase for between 2-3 years.
In this time up to 10,000 hours are invested to ensure no stone is left un-turned
To name a few would include:
Our dedication to you doesn’t stop when you leave the dealer. That’s because owning a Hustler should be as rewarding as the time it saves you.
All Hustler built products are backed with a full 5-year warranty for added peace of mind in the field and include Hustler’s legendary service, back up and support that exceeds your expectations.
Hustler Equipment is an official New Zealand FernMark Licencee, a government programme which promotes and protects New Zealand products and services on a global scale.
